The Devoti Finn design has been built since 1993 and from its launch it has dominated the racing scene, winning every main championship in every corner of the world. In the 1996, 2000, 2004, 2008 and 2012 Olympic Finn regattas nearly every boat was a Devoti Finn and all the medals were won by helsmen sailing the Devoti Finn. Excellent cooperation with the world’s top Finn sailors has resulted in an innovative process of development and design where Devoti can work with the sailors to produce exactly what they need and want.
The Finn was first designed in 1949. Ever since the 1952 Olympics it has kept its place as an Olympic Heavyweight Dinghy class, a record hold by no other boat. Over the years Finn has been reselected as an Olympic class no fewer than 14 times. The last 60 years have seen incredible technical advances develop from the wooden hulled boat of the 50’s to the carbon masts and glass-carbon laminated hulls of today. Finn has shown great resilience to any criticism over this time and has always come out as a winner and proudly takes its place as the world’s leading dinghy for tactical as well as technical singlehanded sailing.
